Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced WordPress Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performing WordPress websites and web applications for GoAccelovate and its affiliated products. You should be a proactive problem solver with deep expertise in WordPress development and a strong understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies.
Job Description
- Build and maintain custom WordPress websites, themes, and plugins
- Create responsive, user-friendly designs that function flawlessly across all devices and browsers
- Customize and optimize WordPress themes and templates based on project requirements
- Optimize websites for speed, performance, SEO, and user experience
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and technical issues efficiently
- Manage hosting, domain setup, DNS configuration, and site deployment
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, voice assistants, and AI chatbots
- Configure and manage email sending/receiving functionality (SMTP, forms, etc.)
- Maintain and customize WordPress admin dashboards and user management systems
- Ensure site security, regular backups, and up-to-date features and plugins
- Collaborate with designers, content teams, and backend developers for seamless integration
- Set up and manage Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other tracking tools
- Maintain detailed technical documentation for all development work
Qualification:
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in WordPress development
- Strong command of WordPress Core, PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Proven experience with custom theme and plugin development
- Expertise with popular page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg, etc.)
- Familiarity with custom post types (CPTs), taxonomies, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
- Proficiency with debugging tools and plugin performance profiling (e.g., Query Monitor)
- Experience with staging environments, Git version control, and deployment workflows
- Knowledge of website speed optimization, caching, and SEO best practices
- Experience in API integration, server-side scripting, and webhooks
- Knowledge of website security, backups, and WordPress hardening practices
- Comfortable with email configuration, SMTP setups, and contact form systems
- Familiarity with hosting environments (cPanel, Plesk, or cloud platforms like AWS or DigitalOcean)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Bonus Skills
- Experience with multilingual site setups using WPML or Polylang
- Familiarity with WooCommerce and complex eCommerce customization
- Experience in integrating voice bots (e.g., Alexa, Dialogflow) and AI chatbots (e.g., ChatGPT)
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and ADA-compliant web design
- Knowledge of Headless WordPress with REST API or GraphQL
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation using GitHub Actions, Buddy, etc.
- Use of WP-CLI for scripting and automated admin tasks
- CRM integrations (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce)
- Experience with membership systems or LMS platforms like LearnDash
- Familiarity with analytics dashboards, heatmaps, and user behavior tools (e.g., Hotjar)
